巴克兰外教在四川成都双语实验学校

本站讯2010年暑期,集团先后举办了三期外籍教师培训班,在培训结业后,外教被分别派往各合作学校担任英语教学工作,并给有关学校的双语教育实验工作提供咨询服务和帮助。来自美国的外教Mr.John和来自加拿大的Ms.Allyson被派往四川的合作学校——成都双语实验学校担任英语口语教学工作。他们在那里工作努力,受到师生的欢迎,他们也感到非常愉快。这所学校积极推进双语教育实验,也给他们提供了很好的用武之地。近日,该校网站发布了一篇由外教Mr.John写的一段文字,谈了他来到这所学校工作的感受。转载如下——

I arrived in Chengdu on August 27,2010 to teach at the Chengdu Bilingual Experimental Middle School. Since I’ve been here I have learned that the school, teachers and the administration work towards a common goal. They work together to ensure that the students get an excellent education. Bilingual education is building a bridge between not just two languages but two cultures as well. The use of  English  in  the  school

and the open attitude to its use has created an environment where bilingual education can flourish. English is being learned by not just the students but the teachers as well, so that English can be used in all of the classes at the school.

Because English is encouraged in all parts of the school the students get an opportunity to use and practice their English on a regular basis. This is an important factor in the learning of English especially for students who are just beginning to learn English. It also benefits those students who have studied in English for a few years and are now able to speak in a full sentence. This atmosphere of learning at this school makes learning and teaching a wonderful experience for all parties concerned. My experience at the school has been rewarding and I enjoy teaching the students and interacting with the teachers and the administration. We all work together for one common goal, which is to ensure that the students get the best possible education in Chinese and English.

译文】我于2010年8月27日到达成都,并就职于成都双语实验学校。入校以来,我感到学校、教师和管理工作都在朝着一个共同的目标前进。他们共同工作以确保学生受到优质的教育。双语教育正在建造一座不仅是两种语言而且也是两种文化之间的桥梁。英语的应用以及学校对英语使用的开放态度已经创造出双语教育日渐繁荣的氛围。不仅学生在学习英语,老师也同样在学习英语,因此英语可以用于全校所有课堂。外籍教师Allyson在口语教学课堂上

因为英语被鼓励用于所有方面,所以学生就有这个机会定期运用和练习的英语。这在英语学习过程中是一个很重要的因素,尤其对于英语学习起始阶段的学生。这对于已经学习了几年英语并且能说出完整语句的学生来说是很有益的。学校的学习氛围使得学习和教学成为各种美好体验。我们都为了一个共同的目标在一起工作,那就是用两种语言让学生接受到尽可能好的教育。
